Privacy Policy
HisabPlan is a personal budgeting app. It is built so that your financial information stays on your own device. This page explains what that means in practice, and everything that is collected.
The short version
- Your entries, limits and settings are stored in your browser. They are never sent to us.
- There are no accounts, no ads, and no selling or sharing of personal data.
- The only things that leave your device are ordinary web requests to load the site, a translation suggestion if you choose to send one, and, only if you choose to connect it, a backup that goes directly to your own Google account.
Data stored on your device
When you use the app, your budget entries (amount, date, category, optional note), your monthly limits, your light or dark theme choice, and a safety copy of your data if it ever becomes unreadable are saved in your browser's local storage. The website also keeps a copy of its own files in your browser so it can open offline. This information stays on your device: we cannot see it, recover it, or delete it for you.
Because of this, clearing your browser's site data, using a private window, or switching browser or device will remove or not carry over your data. Use Export backup to save a copy you control. You can delete everything at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Backups you create
The backup file you export is saved wherever you choose, on your own device. We never receive it. When you import a backup, the file is read inside your browser and is not uploaded anywhere. Backing up to Google is separate and optional; see below.
Optional backup to your Google account
HisabPlan can back up your data to your own Google account. This is off unless you press Connect Google, and the site does not contact Google before then.
- What we ask Google for: permission to see your Google account email address (shown only so you can tell which account is connected) and permission to create and manage only the files HisabPlan itself creates in your Google Drive. HisabPlan cannot see your other files.
- What is saved: when you press Back up now, your entries and limits are written to a spreadsheet called "HisabPlan backup" in your Drive. They go directly from your browser to Google. We do not receive, store or see them. Restore from Google reads that spreadsheet back into your browser, after you confirm.
- What stays in your browser: the sign-in token Google gives the app is kept only in the browser's memory for the current visit and is never saved. The app remembers just your email address, the spreadsheet's ID and the time of your last backup so it can show your status.
- Your control: the spreadsheet belongs to you. You can open, edit, share or delete it in Google Drive at any time, and clearing this site's data does not delete it. Disconnect makes the app forget your account in this browser, and you can remove HisabPlan's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Google's handling of your data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
HisabPlan's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use that information only to provide the backup and restore feature you ask for, and never for advertising or any other purpose.
Website hosting and statistics
The site is delivered through Cloudflare. To serve pages and keep the site secure, Cloudflare processes standard technical information about each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see aggregate page-view counts, for example which languages and pages are visited. According to Cloudflare, Web Analytics does not use cookies or track individuals across websites. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details. The app itself does not set cookies.
Translation feedback form
If you use Suggest a better translation, the text you type (the wrong text, your suggestion and an optional note), the page's language and the page address are sent to our server and forwarded by email to the site owner so we can improve the translations. Please do not include personal or financial information. We do not ask for your name or email address, and we do not keep the suggestions in a database. They exist only in the email inbox that receives them and are used only to improve the translations.
What we do not do
- We do not require an account or ask you to sign in.
- We do not show advertising or use advertising trackers.
- We do not sell, rent or share your personal data.
- We do not connect to your bank or any financial institution.
Children
HisabPlan is a general-purpose budgeting tool and is not directed at children. Because the app does not collect personal information, we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone, including children.
Your rights and choices
Your budget data is yours and is under your control on your device. For anything we might hold about you, such as a feedback email, you can ask us to delete it using the feedback link at the bottom of any page, mentioning the text you sent. If you live where privacy laws such as the GDPR give you rights over your data, you can exercise them the same way.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and its date before the change goes live.
