About and support
What HisabPlan is
HisabPlan is a personal budget planner for everyday money: you note what you earn and spend, set monthly limits, and see where your month is going. It is made for households, so it also keeps track of money lent and borrowed, committees (BC or kameti), savings goals, and a family budget you can share with the people you live with. It works in 18 languages and keeps working without an internet connection.
How it works, in plain words
- Your budget lives on your device. The entries you add are stored in your own browser, not on our servers. There is no HisabPlan account to create.
- Backing up is your choice. You can export a backup file, or log in with Google so a copy is saved to your own Google Drive. We never receive it.
- Bank statements are read on your phone. If you import a statement or paste bank messages, they are read inside your browser and are not uploaded.
- Sharing is something you start. A family budget is shared through a file or your Google Drive, with the people you pick.
- It is not encrypted on the device. Anyone who can use your unlocked phone or browser can see your budget, as with any website's stored data. The privacy policy explains this and everything else that is stored or counted.
Who runs it
HisabPlan is built and run through fanvillage.app, as an independent project. It is not a bank, does not connect to your bank account, and does not give financial advice: it is a notebook with arithmetic, to help you see your own numbers more clearly.
How it is paid for
HisabPlan is currently run and paid for by its maker. If that ever changes, for example if advertising or a paid option is introduced, this page and the privacy policy will say so before it reaches the app, and your budget will stay on your device either way.
Getting help
- Ask Hisaabi. Open the app and tap Hisaabi, the helper at the bottom of the screen. It answers how-to questions straight away, in your language, without sending anything anywhere.
- Ask a person. If Hisaabi can't help, write to us below. Add your email only if you want a reply.
- Wrong wording in a translation? Select the text in the app and use the translation feedback link at the bottom of the page.
Before you write
- My entries are gone. Entries live in the browser they were added in. They are missing in a different browser or device, a private window, or after clearing browser data. Restore from your backup file or log in with Google to get them back.
- I changed phones. On the old phone choose Export backup (or make sure the Google backup is recent), then restore it on the new one.
- What happens when I log out? Your budget is backed up to your Google Drive first, then removed from that device; log in again to bring it back.
- Can you see my budget? No. Your budget is not sent to us, so we can't see it or recover it for you. That is also why we can't reset anything: keep a backup.
More
- Privacy policy: what is stored on your device, what is sent, and what is counted.
- Committee manager: run a BC or kameti for other people.
